15M Followers, Made $32 Million in a Day, Now This Chinese Couple Wants To Quit !

A Chinese couple recently made headlines after revealing that they once earned over $32 Million in a single day from live-streaming. However, what truly sparked curiosity wasn’t just the jaw-dropping income — it was their sudden decision to step away from live-streaming altogether. So what happened?

The couple, known online as @caihongfufu, has been live-streaming on Douyin (China’s version of TikTok) for the past five years. Over that time, they built a following of 15 million fans and hosted more than 1,000 live sessions, many lasting over eight hours reported the South China Morning Post.

But the truth behind their success was far from glamorous.

In a video that caught everyone’s attention, Sun Caihong, the wife, opened up about how the pressure had taken a toll on her life.

“I had no time to keep my family company, and no time to treat damage to my vocal cords,” she said.

Even more shocking, she added:

“I never stopped working, even while I was giving birth to four children over the past five years.”

Now 35, Sun has decided to stop live-streaming completely to focus on her health and family.

“I will learn to rest and enjoy life together with my 32-year-old husband, Guo Bin,” she said.

From a Tiny Room to Millions

Before becoming influencers, the couple worked in insurance sales and lived in a tiny 8-square-metre rented room. They shared their love story online in 2020, which quickly went viral and brought them 3 million followers in one year.

They turned their fame into a business, selling everyday items through live-streams. In 2022, they revealed their biggest sales day ever — making 230 million yuan (over $32 Million or ₹266.88 crore) in a single day and additionally earning 4 million yuan daily.

As their wealth grew, they moved into a 260-square-metre home, brought in their parents and siblings, and started raising their four children — three boys and one girl. But even with all the money and success, they began feeling the weight of burnout.

“We were from the underclass. We should be content with what we have already earned,” they reflected.

They’ve now paused all future live-streams and plan to return only if they can do it in a healthier, balanced way. Meanwhile, Fans online praised their decision. One wrote,

“They have made enough money. It is wise to stop when you feel it is enough. It is a simple truth that many do not see.”

For now, the couple is choosing peace of mind over profit — a rare move in the world of online fame.
