Footage of the billionaire judge actively participating in food deliveries on his bike has gone viral nowadays. But why shark tank india judge Deepinder Goyal is delivering food items?

Shark Tank India, the reality sensation that hit Indian Television screens in December 2021, has not only captivated audiences but shattered viewership records for Sony Entertainment Television. The season 2, as reported by SET, tripled its revenue on SonyLIV compared to the season 1, setting the stage for an even more remarkable Season 3.

Since the first season of Shark Tank India, judges like Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, and Namita Thapar have been on the panel. Amit Jain joined in season 2. But this isn’t just enough. Even more exciting thing is that the new STI Judge Deepinder Goyal, with a staggering net worth of Rs 2,570 crore, is being called one of the wealthiest sharks to grace Shark Tank India Season 3.

However, most of his money comes from owning a big part of Zomato, an Indian multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery company valued at over $13 billion since its stock market debut in 2021.

Despite Deepinder’s colossal success, what surprises and inspires his team as well as his fans is his hands-on approach. Goyal can often be found personally delivering food orders alongside his delivery riders to better understand his business and analyze his delivery partners. His videos and photos wearing Zomato costume and using bike can often been seen going viral on social media.

This dedication to his craft has become more visible since his appearance as a judge on Season 3 of Shark Tank India. While many may not have recognized him during his earlier delivery rounds, the global popularity of the show might change that narrative.

In 2022, Deepinder-owned Zomato made a big move by acquiring another company called Blinkit, and this deal was worth a whopping $568 million, making Deepinder the owner of Blinkit as well. Beyond the boardroom, Goyal continues to make waves as the Zomato CEO. Recently, he invested Rs 79 crore in two land parcels in Delhi.

In addition to Zomato’s business endeavors, the company is actively engaged in social activities. Proudly boasting 160+ differently-abled delivery partners who have delivered around 39,000 orders so far, Zomato aims to onboard 300 partners by December 2023.

According to some sources, the company’s future plans include onboarding 1,000 differently-abled individuals, providing them with specially customized electric delivery vehicles for enhanced comfort and environmental sustainability.

Shark Tank India Season 3, which premiered on January 22, 2024, on SonyLIV, showcases a total of 51 episodes with 12 judges, including the delivering judge, Deepinder Goyal. Viewers can catch the show on Sony Television or the Sony Liv App.
