Meet T. Vaitheeswaran, a 36-year-old resident of Varaganeri in Tiruchi, who embodies resilience and hard work despite facing physical challenges. Affected by polio at the tender age of two, Vaitheeswaran’s legs are paralyzed, but his spirit remains undefeated.

Every day, Vaitheeswaran embarks on a grueling 16-hour workday, juggling roles as a senior executive at a healthcare firm and a food delivery person. Despite the scorching temperatures and the lack of disabled-friendly facilities, he tirelessly crawls to popular restaurants to collect and deliver food parcels on his two-wheeler.

Raised by his father after his mother’s demise at a young age, Vaitheeswaran imbibed the values of hard work and independence early in life. He started earning at 14 and supported himself through school and college, eventually obtaining an MA degree in Tamil.

His adventurous spirit knows no bounds, as he has crawled to visit sacred sites like the Amarnath Cave Temple and trekked hills across the country to seek the blessings of Lord Siva.

Despite facing rejection in his pursuit of government employment due to the conventional examination process, Vaitheeswaran remains undeterred. He advocates for a more inclusive system that recognizes the unique challenges faced by individuals like him.

Vaitheeswaran’s story is a testament to the power of determination and the triumph of the human spirit over adversity.
